Abstract :
The substation is part of the electric power transmission system that has a function as a place to lower the voltage. Inside the substation there is the main equipment, namely a power breaker (PMT) which is a breaker or mechanical switch that is used to connect or break the flow of electricity under normal conditions or in abnormal conditions / disturbances and also under load conditions. To maintain the reliability of the PMT, it is necessary to carry out routine maintenance. PMT maintenance is carried out routinely every 2 years by testing insulation resistance, contact resistance, grounding resistance and simultaneous testing of PMT contacts. This study aims to determine the effect of the test results on contact resistance and insulation resistance. Associated with the finding of a high value of contact resistance during maintenance that affects the reliability of the PMT. By calculating the value of the power loss and energy loss resulting from the PMT maintenance data. The study was conducted at PMT Jatake 2 at the Old Tangerang substation. The results showed that the contact resistance test in the S phase has a value of 90?? which is above the tolerance value of 50??. This can result in damage to the breaker device or will spread to other equipment and also the value of the calculation of power loss and energy loss specifically in the S phase is also high which is 83.73 kWh so that it can cause losses that must be borne by PLN of RP. 8,346 per month. so it must be repaired or replaced immediately
