Abstract :
At the Micro-hydro Power Plant changes in the load will result in the generator. If the turbine torque does not change when there is a change in the resulting load, the frequency and voltage will change and result in damage to the generator and the load. To protect the generator can use the Electronic Load Controller (ELC). The Electronic Load Controller has the same function as the governor that is generally installed in small power plants. Electronic Load Controller is a device that is installed on a Micro-Hydro Power Plant which functions to keep the frequency and voltage generated by the Micro-Hydro Power Plant constant even though the load varies. The Electronic Load Controller (ELC) is installed between the Micro-Hydro Power Plant and the consumer's load. By using a complementary load, the Micro Hydro Power Plant will continue to work at nominal conditions even though the consumer load is changing. The electronic load control system can maintain the rotation, frequency, and voltage, both the voltage between phases and the voltage between the neutral phases to remain at the nominal value, so that the impact of these fluctuations does not damage other electrical equipment. The results of the electronic load controller (ELC) test are able to maintain an average load with an average rotational fluctuation of 1512.8 rpm or 0.85%, an average frequency of 50.43 Hz or 0.86%, voltage between phases an average of 0.35% or 398.35 V, and an average neutral phase voltage of 0.99% or 232.27 V of its nominal value.
