Abstract :
In the transmission line, a protection is needed to maintain the reliability of the High Voltage Air Line which is a relay. In substations with a 150 kV system, a distance relay is used as the main safety. The working principle of this relay is to measure the measured impedance with the impedance of the transmission line. The purpose of this study was to determine the coordinates and the value of the distance relay settings at the 150 kV Overtime Substation. The method used is to find the data for conductors and transformers and perform calculations, where the results of the setting data obtained are compared with the results of the calculation data. By knowing the value of the line impedance, it is possible to determine the impedance of the fault point and the estimated fault distance so that the coordination of the distance relay can be known. The results show a graph of impedance coordination and distance relay setting time. The calculation results for Zone 1 are with an impedance value of 1.46 (t1 = 0 s), Zone 2 an impedance value of 2.19 (t2 = 0 s), and Zone 3 impedance 26.42 (t3= 0 s). There is a difference in the result data with the difference in the value of the setting ranging from 0.1 ? 1 . The difference in the value of the impedance data obtained affects the coverage of the relay distance which is not in accordance with the IEEE C37.113.1999 standard. With the estimated distance of the disturbance, the relay coordination in each zone can be known
