Abstract :
Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is required to provide reliable electrical energy according to the needs of the community. Voltage fluctuation is one of the problems in achieving reliability caused by network conductor losses and changes in load that are always changing. To maintain the quality of the voltage, on the primary coil side of the power transformer, an On Load Tap Changer (OLTC) is installed. OLTC serves to change the turns ratio between the primary and secondary coils of power transformers. Thus, the output voltage on the secondary coil side can be adjusted according to the desired voltage. Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) functions as a detector of voltage changes on the secondary side then gives orders to the OLTC motor to move the tapping contact to switch to another winding ratio so that the voltage on the secondary side remains constant. Setting the secondary voltage on the OLTC is done by changing the ratio of the turns of the primary and secondary coil turns. The OLTC on transformer IV changes the tap position using the AVR automatically where when the voltage has passed the voltage deviation of ±1.25% of the reference voltage of 20.5 kV for more than 40 seconds. Voltage regulation using OLTC is in accordance with SPLN 1: 1978 regarding the allowable service voltage variations, namely maximum +5% and minimum - 10% of the nominal voltage on the secondary side.
