Abstract :
To keep the electricity supply flowing continuously to the community, electricity protection system is needed, especially in the electricity transmission section to be able to secure electricity flow and safety for PLN's own assets. For protection system in substation supplied by DC 110V battery as tool protection system in substation. Batteries are used in protection and telecommunication systems in substations because they can act as backup power supplies when there is a blackout at the substation. The battery itself has a maintenance period to maintain its reliability based on the SK DIR PLN 520 Year 2014 standard on AC/DC Supply which says if the battery capacity decreases by less than 80%, then the battery condition is said to be in a bad condition. Battery testing using BCT (Battery Capacity Test) method using Megger Torkel tool where the battery will be tested for voltage when performing the discharge process and also charging the battery. From the results of battery testing obtained data on average battery voltage and efficiency. Before the maintenance of 2 years Battery Bank Unit 2 has an average voltage value of 1.37 Volts, and after maintenance Battery Bank Unit 2 has an average voltage value of 1.39 Volts and a large battery capacity efficiency of 99% and when referring to the standard used, then the battery is in good condition.
