Abstract :
The industry has now entered the era of industry 4.0, industrial competition is very tight so it requires a strategy to produce quality products and low costs, this is experienced by the Mowilex paint company. One of the strategies developed is to operate a production machine with an automation system. This study aims to design a Mowilex PMD motor control system by designing a PLC-controlled MCC panel so that it works automatically and makes it easier to operate. The design method begins with collecting data on the Mowilex PMD operating system requirements to determine the components used in the MCC panel and perform panel testing. MCC panel designed for Mowilex PMD machine operation by applying wiring diagrams, and control diagrams in the MCC panel with dimensions of 300 cm long and 2000 cm wide consisting of 380V, 50 Hz power supply components and voltage dividers for 220V and 24V, network communication ports, emergency stop, motor inverter, PLC module Simatic S7-1500. To control PMD Mowilex motors at 3 phase motors of 160 kW, 18.5 kW, 15 kW, 5.5 kW, 3 kW, 0.37 kW, and 0.15 kW and panel and motor protection components consisting of MCB, MCCB, and MPCB to secure panels and motors if a problem occurs during operation. Panel quality testing with Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) which consists of 5 stages, namely visual check, electrical check, I/O check, tightening check, and insulation test & earthing, and all stages of checking all conditions are good. And the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) includes visual checking of the MCC panel, tools in the MCC panel, and software tools carried out at the panel user's location with very good results.
