Abstract :
Diesel engines consist of moving metal parts, such as the crankshaft, piston rod, and valve mechanism. To avoid the effects of friction from moving parts, it is necessary to provide a lubrication system. Lubrication of the engine is very important, because moving engine components cannot work without a lubrication system, it can cause engine components to be in direct contact, so that it can cause heat and cause very fatal damage which in the end the life of the diesel engine in the engine. very short time. And the components do not last long. The aim to be obtained in writing this report is to determine the effect of maintenance on the performance of the MAK diesel engine lubricating system line. Problems that will be discussed include lubrication system components and lubrication system disturbances. The inspection that has been carried out has resulted in the conclusion that the condition of the engine oil is not in good condition. This can be caused by several factors of use and maintenance history of the engine because the condition of the diesel engine is not good, then the engine oil is replaced with a new one.
