Abstract :
Guide vane is a component used to determine the direction and amount of water discharge that will enter the turbine. Guide vane control is needed because when the hydroelectric power system is running, the turbine rotation value will always change according to the water intake and the supplied load. Based on the efficiency value obtained in the calculation above, it can be seen that the lowest efficiency is found in the smallest guide vane opening, namely the guide vane opening 52% and the efficiency value of 82.7% and the largest efficiency value occurs when the guide vane opening is 84% and the efficiency value is 84%. 94.85%, it is concluded that the influence of the guide vane opening on the turbine efficiency is directly proportional because the graph obtained is linear, if the guide vane opening is small, the turbine efficiency value is also small.
