Abstract :
The electric power system continues to grow, one of which is the number of consumers and the electrical load that continues to increase every year. Therefore, a reliable electric power distribution system is needed. However, one of the problems that often occurs in distribution systems is transformer overload. Therefore, it is important to measure the transformer load during inspection or maintenance to find out that the load on the transformer has exceeded 80% of the transformer capacity. If the load has exceeded 80% of the transformer capacity, then the transformer is said to be overloaded, then one solution is the Uprating Transformer method. The Uprating method is a way to increase the power of a transformer that is experiencing overload or overload problems. From the results of calculations carried out the percentage of transformer loading at the K-591 substation before uprating the transformer was 84,24% exceeding 80% of the transformer capacity (overload). After uprating the transformer by 46,57%, so it decreased by 37,67%. With this decrease, the transformer performance becomes more efficient.
