Abstract :
Continuous use of electric motors for long periods of time can cause the electric motor or induction motor to overheat and damage. Damage that occurs include damage to the thermo fuse on the electric motor, burning of the stator winding, damage to the stator and other damage. With the installation of a safety relay based on temperature changes that occur in the induction motor, it can prevent damage to the motor due to excessive temperature. Factors causing significant temperature changes are caused by the cooling process of the fan on the motor. When the fan is attached to the motor, the temperature change only increases and decreases by 1â° C for 7 hours. Meanwhile, when the fan is removed from the motor, there is a significant temperature change, from 32â° C to 35â° Cin approximately 2 hours.
