Abstract :
The generator is the main component in a steam power plant (PLTU) which functions to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. So that the electrical power sent to consumers can be used optimally, a high efficiency of the generator is needed. Generator efficiency is a comparison between input power (Pin) and output power (Pout). The ability of the generator input power is influenced by the rotation of the turbine, the greater the rotation of the turbine, the greater the power generated by the generator. The working principle of the generator is that the rotor rotates and rotates the magnetic field originating from the field coil and will induce the armature coil in the stator to produce magnetic flux, the value of the magnetic flux changes with time. Changes in the magnetic flux on the side of the coil cause an induced emf to occur. Based on the results of the analysis on generator power efficiency, the efficiency obtained from September 2020 to June 2021 here shows that the highest efficiency occurred in October 2020 of 84.48% and the lowest efficiency in April 2021 of 78.52%, with efficiency the average operating time is 84.48%. If we look at the efficiency value based on the operation and specifications, there is a decrease in value caused by power losses
