Abstract :
Terrain conditions and fierce weather at sea are factors that cause ship accidents. This condition is intended for oceans that have wave heights of 4.3 ? 15 meters with wind speeds between 8.3 ? 20 m/s (29.88 ? 72 km/hour). This condition reduces the quality of the electric power supply as the load on the propulsion power (turbine propulsion ship) increases. This causes electrical disturbances and even shutdowns or blackouts. The parts of the electrical system that cause accidents on ships are diesel generators and emergency generators in particular: batteries, starting process, switchboard selection, and fuel. In this study, the Kongsberg simulator is useful for observing accidents and the effective operation of the ship's electrical system according to secondary data (relevant research, accident investigation cases, and interviews). The research method used is qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative is intended to show that there is a similar relationship between research, investigative cases, and interviewees with observations using the Kongsberg simulator. Meanwhile, quantitative analysis is intended to process the speed of the turbine propulsion with the required electric power. Then, the analysis technique of the bow-tie diagram method aims to formulate the steps in realizing the Indonesia Conqueror of the Ocean program. The ship used in this study is a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier).
