Abstract :
Contingency analysis is a study of power system security by conducting a power flow analysis from the impact of several contingency cases or N-1, etc. Research conducted at the PLTU UPK Tarahan is needed as a security system test, meaning the system's ability to respond to disturbances that arise in it, as well as efforts to prevent tiered failures. This research method is a simulation with a total of 5 scenarios, performance checks are carried out using software using loadflow analysis the results show the undervoltage condition on bus19 with a value of 87.1% (normal> 90%) is overcome using a capacitor bank, schema 1 discharge generator3 as a result 4-Unit Transformer AUX is overloaded with a violation of 64.32% or operation of 164.32%, and some buses experience undervoltage, in this scheme this is overcome by a tap changer on the transformer and loadshedding on the load. Schematic 2 N-1 Bop No.1 PdcTR as a result some buses are in an undervoltage position and Bop No.2 Pdc TR is overloaded, in this scheme this is overcome by interconnection to other buses or loadshedding. Schematic 3 Transformer N-2 Bop No.1 Pdc TR and Bop No.2 Pdc consequently the BOP Switchgear bus is separated from the system, this scheme is overcome by interconnection options to other buses. Scheme 4 N-2 COMMON NO.1 PDC TR & Bop No.2 Pdc TR as a result some buses are in an undervoltage position and Bop No.1 Pdc TR is overloaded, this scheme is overcome by interconnection options to other buses
