Abstract :
Load balancing is one of the maintenance activities carried out by PT. PLN (Persero) Depok Area ULP Bojonggede in order to maintain load balance on the BGK distribution substation transformer. Load balancing due to load imbalance carried out in this study is by using the load breaking method. This load breaking method is carried out because the 4th direction which is experiencing load buildup must be moved to the 2nd direction. If it is not done, it will shorten the life of the distribution transformer because the load is not balanced. The existence of an uneven load in one direction is triggered by an imbalance in the load in the department. In the circular letter of the directors of PT. PLN Number: 0017.E/DIR/2014 Distribution Transformer Maintenance Method Based on Asset Management Rules states that distribution transformers are categorized as bad when they reach 80% - 100% loading. Load unevenness and load imbalance are problems solved and load balancing is a solution to maintain the distribution transformer of BGK substations. In department 4 there is a load imbalance and part of it is transferred to department 2. The BGK substation has a transformer capacity of 315 kVA. The percentage of load imbalance in each direction is reduced. In department 4, from 6.85% it decreased to 5.5% and in department 2 it decreased from 11.30% down to 3.2%. Minimize it by distributing the load after being transferred to department 2.t
