Abstract :
Tambun Substation 150 kV is a supplier of electrical energy for the needs of the community, especially in the Bekasi region and surrounding areas. Bekasi is the closest area to Jakarta which has a number of 193 thunder days per year based on BMKG data in 2018. Tambun Substation 150 kV located in the region with the number of thunder days 193 times per year that is vulnerable to direct strikes must be protected so that the electricity supply can continue to be met. With this in mind, a good lightning protection system is needed to protect the 150 kV Tambun Substation. Planning a lightning protection system using standards from PUIPP 1983, NFPA 780, and SNI 03-7015-2004 to determine the lightning protection system used and obtained based on the 3 standards, Tambun Substation 150 kV is needed a lightning protection system. In this case, the Tambun Substation 150 kV uses a down conductor that is installed horizontally between rows on the existing goal with a faraday cage system. To determine whether the lightning rod has been able to protect the Tambun Substation 150 kV one of them uses the rolling ball method with fingers worth 30 m. The grounding system at Tambun Substation 150 kV has a good value with a value of 0.379 ? and 0.123 ? which is still below the standard specified by PUIL,2000 so that when there is a disturbance, the surja current goes directly to the earth for safekeeping. The possible step voltage in the GI area has a magnitude of 905.921 V which is still dangerous for THE GI operator.
