Abstract :
The substation is a vital object of the state which must be monitored by special supervision on every aviable equipment. One of them is a power transformer which is an electric power tool that functions to channel electrical power from high voltage to low voltage or rather. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of the loading and ambient temperature of the transformer on the Aurduri Substation. This research uses quantitative research methods with descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The data sources used are data on loading and ambient temperature on transformer unit 1 Aurduri substation obtained from PT. PLN (Persero) UPT jambi, ULTG Aurduri. Data will be analyzed based on thermal aging of insulation and loss of life calculation. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, each increase in hot spot temperature will increase the age shrinkage rate in the transformer, which will result in shorter transformer service life. Based on data on the average loading of power transformers for units 1 and 2 Aurduri substations for 1 year from January 2020 to Desember 2020, the highest age losses in March 2020 was 0,8775894 for transformer 1 and in May 2020 it was 0,143559 for transformer 2 that the efficiency of transformer 2 is higher than the efficiency of transformer 1 because the loading on transformer 2 is smaller than the loading on transformer 1 because the losses on transformer 2 are smaller than the losses on transformer 1, therefore it causes the efficiency to decrease
