Abstract :
Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is one type of conventional power plant that converts chemical energy into mechanical energy and then back into electrical energy. The better the generator efficiency value, the better the performance of a generator. Generator efficiency calculations are needed to determine the performance of a generator. This study discusses the Effect of Load on Generator Efficiency, especially Generator Unit 1 PLTU Bengkayang 2x50 MW. Based on the research conducted, it is found that each loading has a different efficiency value. From the three experimental loads used, the lowest efficiency value was obtained when the load was 35 MW, which was 83.15%. Meanwhile, the highest generator efficiency value is when the experimental load is 55 MW with an efficiency of 90.09%. The performance of the generator unit 1 PLTU Bengkayang 2x55 MW decreased by 8.11%
