Abstract :
In the electric power system, especially on medium voltage networks, shrinkage is one measure of the efficiency or not of an operation of an electric power distribution system. The problem of shrinkage can cause losses, namely from a technical and non-technical side. Technical distribution losses are losses caused by the nature of the conductor and the electrical equipment itself in operating conditions. In the Bahrain feeder, the estimated shrinkage is 29.92%. The effect of distribution shrinkage on Bahrain's feeders is due to the length of the feeder, the number of customers, the unbalanced transformer loading, resulting in a lot of energy being lost or not being channeled, then in terms of usage, the customer load is unstable and will experience a very large voltage drop. So that the components on the electric power network and household appliances cannot operate properly. Therefore, this thesis discusses several methods to minimize technical distribution losses, namely the load solving method, the cross-sectional area uprating method, and the capacitor bank installation method. This method is carried out with the help of computer software to analyze the technical distribution loss of the Bahrain feeder and use calculations to see how big the voltage drop is. If the technical distribution shrinkage is decreasing, then you will get a good voltage service quality and in accordance with the Service Quality Level (TMP) which is in accordance with the Dumai standard of Sub Rupat City.
