Abstract :
Frequency is an indicator of the balance of active power generation with active power on the loading side. If there is a disturbance that causes large capacity generators to be separated from the system, it will cause frequency stability in the system to be disturbed and can even result in blackouts. One of the ways to normalize frequency stability when a disturbance occurs is to automatically release the load using Under Frequency Relay (UFR) with the Under Frequency Load Shedding (UFLS) scheme. Simulation of this electric power defense scheme can be done using the DigSILENT 15.1.7 software. The load shedding simulation was carried out in 5 stages in the frequency range 49.2Hz - 48.7 Hz. From the simulations carried out in scenario 1 there is a load shedding of 100 MW with a steady state frequency of 50,068 Hz, scenario 2 releasing a load of 90 MW with a steady state frequency of 50.023 Hz and scenario 3 releasing a load of 190 MW with a steady state frequency of 50,066 Hz.
