Abstract :
Solar cells are devices that can convert light into energy. Eefficiency solar cells can decrease about 0.5% for everyincrease in surface temperature 1?C. Research using passive cooling methods aims to increase the optimization of solar panel output. While the active cooling system absorbs the generated current, this research focuses on a passive cooling system using a combination of water fixed volume and heat-sink were proposed in this study. Thecell cooling method solarapplied in this study uses an aluminum beam filled with passive water that can reduce the surface temperature of the solar cell. From the results of this study it is known that thedecrease in the average surface temperature achieved is 8.48% greater than that of uncooled solar panels. The solar panel with the proposed cooling produces an average power of 17.20 watts while the average power produced by a standard solar panel is 12.656 watts. The efficiency value of solar panels with the proposed cooling system shows a better value of 9.27% while for standard solar panels the average efficiency is 6.28% lower. Meanwhile, the average energy loss for solar panels using the proposed cooling tends to be lower, reaching an average of 1.835% compared to solar panels without cooling, which has a higher energy loss factor of 1.991%.
