Abstract :
Boiler is one of the main components of PLTU. The boiler works to produce steam at the high temperature and pressure required by the steam turbine to drive the generator to produce electricity. One of the things that affect the efficiency of the boiler is the heat or heat energy lost during the combustion process of coal fuel. In this paper, calculation and analysis of the effect of boiler efficiency on net plant heat rate (NPHR) before and after overhaul, where calculation based on heat loss method or heat loss, so the analysis obtained from comparison of calculation result. From the calculation of boiler efficiency before overhaul equal to 82,744% and boiler efficiency after overhaul equal to 83,12%, mean there is an increase of efficiency value equal to 0,376%. This boiler efficiency increase led to a 19.4 kcal / kWh Net Plant Heat Rate (NPHR) decline where NPHR before overhaul of 2102.2 kcal / kWh and after overhaul of 2082.8 kcal / kWh.
