Abstract :
The efficiency of the transformer is influenced by several faktors such as the losses contained in the transformer and also the size of the loading. The fluctuating demand for electrical energi in Purbalingga will result in greater losses in the transformer. To keep the electricity demand well maintened, a good electricity sistem is needed in the Purbalingga area, for that transformer efficiency also needs to be considered. This study aims to determined the effect of peak load on the efficiency of power transformers contained in the 150 KV Substantion Purbalingga, namely transformers 1, 2, and 3. The highest efficiency of power transformer 1 occurred in April 2021 with a peak load of 27.5 MW transformer efficiency of 99.68%, the highest efficiency of power transformer 2 occurred in November 2020 with a peak load of 28.5 MW, the result of the calculation of transformer efficiency is 99.816% and the highest efficiency of power transformer 3 occurred in March 2021 with a peak load of 16.5 MW transformer efficiency of 99.8 %. Each transformer has characteristics when there is an increase in peak load, there will also be an increase in the efficiency of the transformer, but at a certain peak load, the efficiency of the transformer will decrease
