Abstract :
Contingencies conditions that are not met in the electric power system are something that needs to be considered. One way to overcome this is by load shedding scheme. In general, load shedding schemes where the allocation of released loads is only based on a priority scale so that it is not optimal. Academic developments encourage the appearance of research in system protection, one of which is discussed in this thesis, namely the Adaptive Under Frequency Load Shedding (AUFLS) scheme based on the rate of change of frequency (ROCOF) for determining the amount of system load to be removed by considering the voltage sensitivity at each load terminal for the determination of the release allocation of each load. So that the amount and allocation of load shedding are more appropriate. In this thesis, the AUFLS scheme is applied to the IEEE 39-Bus system by applying two different conditions, the first one is Generator 9 outage and the second one is Generator 6 outage. In each of these conditions, the system frequency decrese by more than 0.5% of the nominal. After the implementation of the AUFLS scheme, the results obtained in the Generator 9 outage condition, frequency system reach stable again with a deviation of 0.098% from the nominal while in the Generator 6 outage condition, frequency system reach stable again with a deviation of 0.04% from the nominal. So it can be concluded that AUFLS can be an alternative scheme for automatic load shedding
