Abstract :
In an electric power system there are many obstacles or disturbances that occur, for example an event of short circuit and the occurrence of excess so that it can cause a system to be damaged. The equipment must be protected from dynamic interference and thermal interference. to guarantee on an electrical statement. The equipment that often has problems is the transformer. Therefore it is necessary to have a safety system contained in the transformer to reduce the possibility of disturbances that occur. The safety installed is a differential relay, a differential relay works by comparing the current on the primary side and the current on the secondary side of the current transformer (CT). The components that are calculated are the value of the current transformer (CT) ratio, mismatch error and parameters on differential relays in normal conditions and calculate relay parameters when a fault occurs. Thesis which discusses the differential relay adjustment on the generator-transformer at the Singkarak hydropower plant. The CT ratio installed on the transformer on the primary voltage side of 150 kV is 200/5 with a nominal current of 200 A, on the transformer on the secondary voltage side of 10.5 kV that is 3000/5 with a nominal current of 2860 A. The setting current obtained from the calculation of 0.244 A and it is hoped that by setting the transformer protection system it can work optimally
