Abstract :
This is because of the problems that often in 150 kV conductors, short circuit faults and the possibility of a main protection failure caused by a lack of precise rele settings to protect the conductors from the Chandra Ashri GI to the Ashaimas GI. Therefore, this study was written to discuss setting the line current differential rele as well as testing the performance of the rele setting and setting the time of the overcurrent rele as a backup safety. Data collection was carried out at PT PLN ULTG Cilegon with a document study technique from the company. The data was processed using a quantitative method approach and fault simulation assistance using the ETAP 16 application. The line current differential rele was chosen as the main protection because it was not affected by changes in load, high sensitivity, and easy application, as well as a fairly short conductor distance from GI Chandra Ashri to GI Ashaimas. From the calculation results, the charging current on the primary and secondary sides is 0.13A and 0.00021A the results of setting Is1 2.5A on the ChandraAshri GI side and 0.5 on the Ashaimas GI side using a 20% k1 slope and 80% k2 slope. In the external test, the fault rele did not work because it was still blocked in the area with a meeting value of Idiff 0A and Ibias 22.69kA. In the internal fault test, the rele works because the meeting point between Idiff and Ibias is already in the operating area on the characteristic curve with Idiff values of 51.64kA and Ibias of 25.82kA. From setting the OCR setting on the Chandra Ashri GI Iset side of 5.45A and the OCR setting at the Ashaimas GI, the Iset is 1.092 A with the working time curve of the current standard inverse
