Abstract :
The efficiency of the generator will greatly affect the electrical energy that will be distributed to electricity consumers. In this case the efficiency of the generator is strongly influenced by the magnitude of the load and losses that exist in the generator. The purpose of this research is to see how the load affects the efficiency of generators 1 and 2 at PLTU Ombilin. The method used to analyze the data is the calculation of stator loss, rotor loss, stray loss, total loss, and input power to obtain generator efficiency. From the results of calculations in this study on generator 1 the average value of total losses for the hourly highest is 0,356 MW and the lowest is 0,224 MW. And from the results of the calculations in this study on generator 2 the average value of the total losses for the highest hourly is 0,319 MW and the lowest is 0,224 MW. Then for the efficiency value on generators 1 and 2 from the results of calculations in this study, the average value of 99,6% was obtained. Which from the results obtained the condition of generators 1 and 2 at PLTU Ombilin are in good condition.
