Abstract :
PLTU Tarahan consists of 2 units of power plants with a capacity of 200 MW. Fuel combustion is used for coal technology CFB (Circulating Fludized Bed). The air heater is a heat exchanger that is used to move heat from one fluid to another fluid. Types of fluid flow heat transfer on the heating of the air is counter flow. Be aware that the air heater performance effect on the efficiency of the boiler, so that when the air heaters having problems then it would result in a decrease in the efficiency of the boiler. Doping in air heater pipes can cause a performance decrease air heaters. As the dry exhaust gas heat losses from air heaters can decrease the efficiency of the boiler. Boiler efficiency decreased from December 2007 with missiles August 2016 from 79.29% to 76.92%. So that the effectiveness of the air heater at the time of the December 2007 missiles of 40.6% with dry exhaust gas heat losses amounting to 10.45%. When in August 2016 conditions the effectiveness of the air heater of 36.7% with dry exhaust gas heat losses of 12.66%, so that the effectiveness of the heater the air decreased by 4.3%.
