Abstract :
PLTU unit 3 and unit 4 Tarahan, South Lampung with a capacity of 2X100 MW where electricity is generated from the power plant which is then distributed through the transmission to distribution network. This distribution process cannot be separated from disturbances that arise due to the material/type of conductor and the distance factor. The disturbance that usually occurs in the distribution process is a short circuit. There are 4 types of short circuit faults, namely 3 phase short circuit, single phase to ground, two phase, and two phase to ground. The research started from data collection. Then create a row using the ETAP application. After the single line is completed, a short circuit simulation is carried out by providing interference at a location close to the generator source. The buses that experienced the disturbance were bus 8 for Unit 3 and bus 11 for Unit 4. If a short circuit really occurred, it would be fatal to the generator, starting from trips to the cb in the generator to severe and dangerous damage to the generator. . The largest short-circuit current fault value is single-phase short-circuit current to ground with a current rating of 37.505 kA for simulation and 37.334 kA from manual calculations. This simulation is carried out to determine the meaning of short-circuit fault current and to determine the rating of the short-circuit fault current that occurs.
