Abstract :
Kilo Watt Hour (kWh) meter is a tool used to measure a value or price of electricity usage (watt hours) in the period of time used. The problem of losses that occur in the kWh Meter in Batam City is one of the problems felt by PT. B'right PLN Batam. The objectives to be achieved in this study are as follows when the kWh meter deviation calculation shows the results of no more than the permissible kWh deviation tolerance, namely the results of -2% and +2% and to repair electrical energy losses in Batam City, starting from the kWh meter error technically and non- technically. results Based on a study conducted using manual calculations and using special software from PT. B'right PLN Batam. With this software, it is easy for the study to be carried out. In this case, it is non-technical kWh that usually has the greatest impact on consumer losses, because this is not 100% pure damage from the kWh Meter, but PLN is not responsible for the losses given. From the results of technical testing of the 6 kWh Meter where data and specifications are obtained up to the deviation of the kWh Meter and from the results of the study that the author conducted on non-technical testing, this is what results in losses on a large scale.
