Abstract :
Circuit Breaker is a safety circuit in the electric power system. Circuit Breakers can disconnect automatically if they experience an excess of electric current due to electrical overload, short circuit or short circuit, and sparks. PT. Bukit Asam Tarahan Port Unit Lampung is one of the largest coal ports in Indonesia. The condition that becomes an obstacle is the Air Circuit Breaker (ACB) system, this design has drawbacks because the protection system is obsolete or weak. This causes the electric power recovery process to take up to 1 hour. The impact has resulted in disruption of coal unloading activities from RCD to Stockpile (Load In) and coal shipments from Stockpile to the shipping line (Load Out) so that it needs to be replaced. After being replaced with a Vacuum Circuit Breaker, the protection system is better. The time for the transfer of electrical power is only 5-10 minutes making it faster for deliveries using a conveyor to the shipping line (Load Out). The components in the switchgear include busbars, power breakers (PMT), potential transformers, current transformers, protection relays, earthing switches, and vacuum circuit breakers
