Abstract :
Electrical energy is one of the energies that greatly affects human life. Electrical energy affects many sectors ranging from households, transportation, business or industry and others. Over time, the need for electrical energy is increasing. PT. PLN (Persero) must be able to meet the increasing demand for electrical energy every year. However, it is possible that the electricity distribution system will experience a voltage drop below the standard set by PLN. This happens to the medium voltage customers of PT. The True Great Five. The voltage drop that occurs at PT. Panca Agung Sejati when operating at
17.87 kV. Meanwhile, when the condition of PT. Panca Agung Sejati does not operate with a standard voltage of 19.67 kV. In connection with efforts to improve the voltage drop, PT. PLN (Persero) has installed capacitors on the network at PT. Panca Agung Sejati with a total capacity of 3 × 400 kVAR. And simulated using the ETAP 16.0 application to find out whether the capacitor is still effective for load growth in the next
10 years. The voltage when the capacitor is installed is 19.15 kV. The voltage result that has been corrected using a 3 × 400 kVAR capacitor is in accordance with the standard set by PLN, which is -10% of the standard voltage used by the electric power system. For load growth until 2030, 5 capacitors with a capacity of 400 kVAR are needed to correct the voltage drop that occurs.
