Abstract :
Condenser in PT. PJB UP Gresik aims to condense the hot vapor (saturated vapor) that comes out from the turbine by using its cooling fluid that is sea water. Tube leakage is one of the problems that are found in condenser and retubing was often not directly done, precisely plugging (blockage) was done in order to shorten the maintenance time so that the condenser can operates again. Plugging on the condenser tube will affect the heat transfer rate from the condenser. Because of the indicator of condenser tube leakage at CCR (Central Control Room) is active, Work Order is emitted with job descriptions of Condenser 1B Leaks on January 16, 2017. The status of the work order is Emergency Maintenance so that maintenance is done by installing plugs on condenser tube as much as 43 units (0,47% of the total condenser tube). With the existence of plugging, the heat transfer rate decreased by 0,594 MW and decreases in effectiveness is 0,0028785 at night and heat transfer rate decreased by 1,71 MW and decreases in effectiveness is 0,0239692 during the day. From the results of the calculation of variations obtained the maximum number of plugging in Condenser 1B is 1239 units (13.5%).
