Abstract :
In this era the development of technology and science is growing very fast.The development of technology and science motivates many people to develop various technologies needed, one of which is in the field of education.Education is such an important factor for the current generation.One of the institutions involved in the world of education is higher education. Currently the level of discipline at Institut Teknologi PLN becomes one of the benchmarks in the academic process of students.In general, student academics include student prestige and grades. Grades and prestige are an integral part of the academic assessment process at this college.The level of disciplinary influence in the lectures at pln Institute of Technology is so important. The rapid development of technology and science is expected to be the solution to this academic problem.Parents and people nearby want to be smooth in the academic process as well as information about campus and attendance quickly and accurately.In this case parents want to control, supervise and know the level of development of students in college. From the above explanation, the authors wrote the study with the title "Parental monitoring application for academic process of Insitut Teknologi PLN students with k-means clustering method" because currently parents do not know in detail about the development process of their child's studies.
