Abstract :
Scientific papers can be published into journals that can be accessed by everyone. A journal which is represented in electronic form is usually called an E-Journal. The IT-PLN campus provides a website to access scientific journal articles, known as the PETIR E-Journal. In general, scientific journal articles are used as references for further research. Writings on scientific journal articles consist of a set of words in accordance with KBBI. However, in some cases there are still a number of errors in words. One method that can check and correct these errors is Jaro-Winkler Distance. This method works by calculating the proximity distance between strings. The implementation of Jaro-Winkler Distance method using 30 input data obtains an accuration value as high as 73%. The average time needed for checking and repairing word documents was 1 minute and 20 seconds.
