Abstract :
The book classification process at the library of Badan Pengusahaan Batam is still done conventionally where the classification process is done based on the employee?s knowledge from reading and understanding the books. This process causes various problems such as errors in assigning the right category, the category differences from books with the same title that are managed by different employees needs a long time to assign it in the right category. The purpose of this research is to make a book classification application by implementing Naïve Bayes Classifier method where the method is used to get the results of the classification of books according to the categories or classes that have been determined by the librarian. This research uses the Waterfall method for software development, Unified Modeling Language (UML) for application design, Black Box Testing for application testing, MySQL for database design, Naïve Bayes Classifier method for data processing and using desktop in terms of application implementation. The test results in this research showed an accuracy of 94%. From the test results it can be concluded that this application can classify books well and help the librarian in the process of classifying the book collections
