Abstract :
PLTU Teluk Sirih unit1 has a power capacity of 112MW which applies Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) technology to produce saturated steam which is used to rotate turbines. Furnace is an important component of CFB boilers. One part of the furnace is refractory. In refractory, CFB boilers are installed in the bottom of furnace as the insulation to protect the waterwall pipe from the circulation of dense bed material, able to withstand high temperatures and abrasion. Teluk Sirih PLTU refractories often suffer from damage due to dense circulation of bed material, so they plan refractory changes. The type of refractory used for replacement is the type of Ultra-Express80 which aims to get the type of refractory that is in accordance with the PLTU Teluk Sirih. In this study, the authors varied 0.06-0.1m refractory thickness and compared it with the Teluk Sirih PLTU refractory in terms of heat transfer. So the conclusion is the type of refractory Ultra-Express80 is more suitable to be installed than the type of refractory PLTU Teluk Sirih because the type of refractory Ultra-Express80 is installed in a design with a thickness of 0.08m, with a heat transfer rate of 32,209,178.79W larger than temperature in a Calde Flow LM 74 A IP waterwall pipe.
