Abstract :
Cathodic protection Current Impresses is one method of metal protection from corrosion attacks. As a result of corrosion in this metal can cause danger even fatalities, as well as corrosion that occurs in gas pipes that can cause a fire due to leakage in the gas pipeline. This problem is a very important and serious part to deal with. One effort to prevent this corrosion is by designing a corrosion prevention system that uses the Impressed Current Cathodic Protection method. This study aims to recalculate the ICCP system in gas pipelines based on the standard (NACE) Standard RP-0169-2002 Control of External Corrosion or Underground Submerged Metallic Piping System. This system is tested on 16 inch steel pipes and 0.00635 m thick. The amount of protection current that is needed is 94,721 A for the protected area 37,888,633 m ^ 3. The number of anodes used is 14 with the current output of each anode 7.961 A. The type of anode that is used is an anode of Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) coated Titanium for a 20-year design with anode resistance at 0.14 Ohms. The DC voltage used is 62 V, with a current of 100 A, while the AC voltage used is 220 V with an outflow of 20 A.
