Abstract :
PLTG Muara Tawar Block 3,4 is the peaker and load follower unit, that?s mean gas turbine is operated at peak load and operate for supply the unstable frequency of electric network. Because of the peaker and load follower unit, PLTG will receive variation load with appropriate demand. That is can be impact to the performance of gas turbine, and gas turbine using two kinds of fuel at the operation, that are natural gas and high speed diesel (HSD). So, for this condition is needed to check the performance of gas turbine when using natural gas and HSD fuel toward variation of load. The result of calculation show at load 100 MW the termal efficiency PLTG using HSD fuel is 27,620% with the SFC is 0,285 kg/kWh and using natural gas 26,060% with the SFC is 0.274 kg/kWh while at load 125 MW the termal efficiency PLTG using HSD fuel is 29,221% with SFC is 0,270 kg/kWh and using natural gas 27,617% with SFC is 0,259% kg/kWh. So, the performance of gas turbine will increase if the load is risen. The value of SFC gas turbine is lower if using natural gas as a fuel but the termal efficiency is higher if using HSD fuel at the same load.
