Abstract :
The use of a solar panel that is placed with the static position in the solar
power plant make energy conversion is done less than optimal. This is because
the solar panels are not always perpendicular to the Sun. This study discusses
the system that can control solar panels so solar panel will always be facing
towards the oncoming sunlight and electricity output gain systems are optimal.
Control system of solar panels can move towards the y axis (North-South) and x
axis (East-West). The movement of the solar panels towards the y axis moves
with time-based, while the movement of the solar panels towards the x axis has
two mode switches automatically depending the intensity of the Sun. two mode it
is the mode of movement of solar panels based on LDR (Light Dependent
Resistor) sensor and the mode of movement of the solar panels based on RTC
(Real Time Clock) module. X axis movement mode selection obtained from the
results of the calculation perceptron algorithms with parameter is the LDR sensor
and rain sensors and found the results of the validation tests in the form of 100%
accuracy rating. Then do also the measurement of power generated through the
observation field for two days with the results of the efficiency of absorption of
energy by solar panels with a control system is 59.5% whereas solar panels
without a control system is 49.6% from the total maximum power produced by the
solar panels 10 Wp.
