Abstract :
Thesis trial scheduling process at the STT-PLN Informatics Engineering
Department is still semi-manual with the help of Microsoft Excel and takes 2-3
working days. While the schedule-making process is very important, it must be
done optimally and quickly because the schedule will be used for the readiness
of students to carry out thesis hearings. Not to mention checking again so that
there will be no clash between the room and the time and between the guidance
children and the supervisor. Plus the assessment system or current value
recapitulation also takes 2-3 hours because the department secretary needs to
move the hardcopy test results into Microsoft Excel. From this problem, an
application that can facilitate the activities of the department secretary is needed.
The application applies the Genetic Algorithm in making the schedule so that
there are no clashes. The duration of the genetic algorithm process is due to two
factors. First in terms of the application source code on PC and PM while the
second in terms of hardware.
