Abstract :
This thesis discusses about designing the application of expert systems
diagnose to infant diseases. The method used is Dempster Shafer method.
Dempster Shafer's method is not monotonous in solving uncertainty problems,
due to the addition or subtraction of new facts. The design of expert system
software includes, software requirements analysis and knowledge engineering
design where in create this software engineering data collected is represented
as knowledge base, rule base. The purpose of this application is to identify the
11 classification respiratory diseases in children under five with 30
symptoms.Testing program use black box testing. The results of manual
calculations with the system gives results in accordance with the application of
Dempster Shafer method. The result of this research is expert application which
helps in giving a result of diagnosis to symptoms with calculation method of
Dempster Shafer
