Abstract :
Students have different academic abilities, so interest in the elective subjects in
the field of specialization is different. In the selection of specialization subjects,
several assessment criteria are needed to get the best alternative courses.
Therefore, a Decision Support System is needed in the subject of specialization
field using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The basic concept of
the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method is to find a weighted sum with a
performance rating on each alternative on all attributes. The SAW method
requires a decision matrix normalization process to a scale that can be compared
with all available alternative ratings. From the existing criteria, the calculation
process is carried out to get the best alternative results so that it can provide a
choice of elective courses. Elective Course Applications are made using the
Waterfall method as a software development system.
