Abstract :
In this research will discuss about the improvement of transient stability on power distribution system with statcom using Simulink matlab. Statcom is one of the FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission System) used to make power delivery more efficient and more reliable. Transient stability is a very important thing in the stability of a power system. After disturbance the loss of transient stability can be caused by overload on some networks (or may be caused by network termination errors) as a consequence of disconnection on other networks after errors or loss of load. The main purpose of this research is to design the model from statcom and analyze it by using Simulink as an alternative to improve the model with better transient stability. This simulation uses Simulink matlab which will show statcom system control capability to overcome instability of a transmission system. The optimum point of the system by using static compensator will also be studied in this discussion. And it will also compare the stability of the simulations using statcom with those not using statcom
