Abstract :
This study aims to determine whether the use of Darah clam shell ash
waste as a filler substitute in the HRS-WC asphalt mixture can meet Marshall
parameters or not. The method used in this study is an experimental method on
test objects that examine Marshall parameters with variations of 0%, 2.5%, 5%,
7.5% and 10%. After testing the material for the mix design, the optimum asphalt
content was obtained at 7.2%. Tests using blood shell ash produced the
maximum value with a percentage variation of 2.5% with a stability value of
1688.57kg, Void In Mineral 4.57%; Void filled Asphalt 7.50%; Void Mix in
Aggregate 20.26%; Flow 4.67mm; Density 2.18; and Marshall Qoutient 3711.24
kg/mm. From these results it can be concluded that the ash of Darah clam shells
can technically be considered to be applied to the road surface as a substitute or
alternative filler material.
