Abstract :
A Paving block can be called a building material with precast concrete
and has a composition consisting of a mixture of cement, sand, and other fillers.
One of them is by utilizing Sugarcane Bagasse Ash and Glass Powder which
have chemical compounds that are pozzolanic, namely calcium (CaO) and silica
compound (SiO2). In this study, paving blocks were made using sugarcane ash
and glass powder as substitutes for cement. The comparison of paving block
materials is 1 (cement): 4 (sand). The purpose of this study was to determine the
compressive strength and optimum water absorption with sugarcane bagasse ash
and glass powder with a variation of 10% of bagasse ash and glass powder with
a variation of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%. The compressive strength test was carried
out at the age of 7 days, 14 days, 28 days, and the water absorption test was
carried out at the age of 28 days. The results of the paving block research show
that the largest compressive strength value is in V3 (10% bagasse ash and 10%
glass powder) with a compressive strength value of 20.08 MPa including quality
B and the smallest percentage of water absorption is in V4 with a value of 3.742%
including quality. B. Based on SNI 03-0691-1996 the paving blocks produced in
this study are classified as B quality which can be used for parking lots.
