Abstract :
The increasing rate of population growth has resulted in a high demand for
housing facilities. Many civil engineering infrastructure developments in
Indonesia still choose concrete as the main structure. In this study, we used
blotting waste originating from solid waste from the sugar-making process which
is expected to replace cement and solid coal waste, namely bottom ash, is used
which is expected to replace sand. This study aims to determine the compressive
strength and absorption of each percentage reduction. cement due to the addition
of blotong waste and the percentage of sand reduction due to the addition of
bottom ash in the concrete mix. .The test object is made with a 15 x 30 cm
cylindrical mold. The percentage of cement reduction due to the addition of
blotong was 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10%. The percentage of sand reduction
due to the addition of bottom ash is 35%. The number of concrete test objects
made was 72 pieces. The test was carried out at the age of 7 days, 14 days and
28 days for compressive strength and 28 days for absorption. The results of this
study indicate that the use of blotong can replace cement and the use of bottom
ash can replace sand as the basic ingredient of concrete mix. The addition of
blotong is 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10% and 35% bottom ash produced compressive
strength at 28 days, respectively, 25,667 MPa, 25,855 MPa, 26,100 MPa, 21,797
MPa, and 17,268 MPa. As for the absorption of 0.328%, 0.332%, 0.485%,
0.492%, and 0.651%. From these results, the optimum compressive strength
value was obtained by adding 5% blotong and 35% bottom ash of 26.100 MPa.
And the highest absorption value was obtained at the addition of 10% blotong
and 35% bottom ash at 0.651%
