Abstract :
In Indonesia flexible pavement has long been used and is a paved mixture. The constituent materials of bending pavement are asphalt, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and filler material. Fillers are useful for increasing viscosity in paved mixtures and reducing temperature sensitivity so that pavement is not easily deformed by the wheels of the vehicle. In improving the pavement structure of the road in need of alternative materials to be mixed with asphalt or aggregate. This research was conducted in the laboratory of UP PPP Bina Marga, East Jakarta using asphalt mixture of hot Asphalt Concrete ? Wearing Course (AC ? WC). The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the addition of sulfur fillers on the physical parameters of the asphalt layer ac ? WC and know the stability value and characteristics of Marshall. From the results of the study obtained density values, VMA, VFA, Stability, Flow and Marshall Quotient all variations meet the requirements. On VIM testing immersion of 30 minutes did not meet the requirements with a value of 1.85 %. The optimum asphalt content that is tapped after the addition of sulfur filler is 6%. Marshall stability value obtained at 30 minutes immersion with a variation of 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9% of 1484.59, 20052.50, 2000.48, 1428.16 and 1150.59 all variations meet the requirements and marsshall stability value at 24-hour immersion with a variation of 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9% of 1719.60, 1808.23, 1662.28, 1356.50 and 1178.15 all variations meet the requirements.
