Abstract :
Water resources is the main factor of Cikaso PLTM performance, because on the basis of the flow of the those water resources are used to create an water pressure which caused the emergence of water pressure which spins the turbine in the PLTM. The performance of the mini hydro power plant use run off river. The larger the scale of the water flow which spins turbine, the greater the electrical energy generated. The research aims to evaluate the performance and to compare the between the potential output calculated using mathematical calculations with the power generated from the generator for the factors which could affect the production of electrical energy in Cikaso Sukabumi PLTM 5.3 MW. The results revealed that the largest power potential that can be generated by 1st generator unit is 1888,608 kW, 2nd unit is 1392,419 kW and 3rd unit 3 is 444,681 kW, a total power potential of 3725,708 kW occurs on September 27, 2021. Comparison betweeen the power generated by the generator (field) with the resulting power potential is calculated theoretically in the range of 75% - 85%. If the water flow in the river decreases, then the power generated is also decrease and vice versa. Also in september there also a decrease and an increase in water flow which caused by the weather which also impact the availability of the water flow.
