Abstract :
Cofiring is a process of burning two different fuels simultaneously. By cofiringemissions from burning a fossil fuel can be reduced. In this study, the type of cofiring that was carried out was the type of direct cofiring. Direct Cofiring is the cheapest way of burning, by burning biomass and coal simultaneously. MW. In this study, observing the effect of using sago husk as cofiring fuel on operating parameters, to determine this effect, it can be analyzed from each operating parameter data from 100% coal odor testing and 20% cofiring testing and obtained an effect on increasing the temperature in the furnace. Flow in the boiler feed water pump due to the consumption of different amounts of fuel at 20% cofiring and 100% coal testing. The gas emissions observed in this study were sulfur oxidation and nitrogen oxidation. Sulfur oxidation results from cofiring combustion is lower than in 100% coal combustion. Nitrogen oxidation in coal combustion is 100% lower than in cofiring combustion. The difference in the value of emissions from cofiring and coal combustion 100% is still below the standard of emission quality.
