Abstract :
The depletion of fossil fuels and the high demand for energy make renewable energy sources not only an unlimited energy source in the future, but also environmentally friendly and sustainable for the environment. Although solar power generation has several advantages over other forms of power generation, the main problem is the need for land that is barely available in the world and its cost. The solution is to overcome the limited land area by placing the Photovoltaic module above the water surface. will not only lower land costs but will also increase the amount of energy generated by the cooling effect of surface waters. because the PLTS design is modular, this PLTS will be designed with a basic configuration with a capacity of 2500 kWp so that to be able to produce 10MWac, this PLTS will be designed with 5 basic array configurations with a total module of 24000 units and the required land is 61,889m2. from the PVsyst simulation, the effective energy output of the array is 16,963 GWh/year so that the total energy produced by the inverter is 16,671 GWh/year, with a performance ratio of 80.99%.
